Family owned since 2017
My name is Martin, and I’m the founder of Selo Olive Oil. Our roots run deep in Croatia, and Selo is not just a product to us. It’s a way of life.
Our family has worked the land for generations, with roots tracing back to almond farming in the countryside around Zadar. Over time, that connection to Croatian food, land, and family life drew us toward olive growing in Biograd na Moru, where we committed ourselves to producing authentic Croatian extra virgin olive oil.
What we sell is simple: real olive oil from real family land on the Adriatic coast, made with care and sold with transparency. Even the bottle itself was designed to reflect that sense of place. You can read more about the story behind our label here.
From software to the olive grove
My journey into olive oil was a winding one. For years I worked as a software developer, building things in the digital world, but the heritage of my Croatian family always pulled at me.
Eventually I felt the need to return to something more grounded and more permanent. I wanted to reconnect with my roots, honor the traditions of my ancestors, and build something real. That decision became Selo Olive Oil.
